For him, it was just game number 31 of the season, and his mood certainly matched the lack of fanfare. Mazzulla, known around the league for his cool demeanor and poker face that could make Lady Gaga proud, shrugged the entire game off as 'just another day at the office.' When pushed on the matter, he commented that he had a particularly tricky Sudoku to get back to. Regardless of their coach's nonchalance, the Boston Celtics absolutely obliterated the Brooklyn Nets, 121-107. Jaylen Brown led the team on the quest for Nets destruction with a stunning 28 points, sickening Brooklyn's pride with five of Boston's 19 3-pointers. It's rumored that Brooklyn's team morale was sucked into a black hole somewhere around the beginning of the third quarter. Jayson Tatum, not wanting to be outdone, chalked up an impressive 23 points and 10 rebounds, casting a dark alley-oop shadow over the Nets' performance. The icing on the Celtics’ already heavily frosted cake was snapping their two-game losing streak. Despite the thrashing of the Nets, the ever-grounded Mazzulla remained unfazed. “Is it too much to ask for a little Sudoku quiet time?” he quipped after the game, seemingly more interested in his crossword puzzle than the fact his team had just massacred the Nets into the basketball equivalent of oblivion. Fans nationwide now eagerly await the next episode of 'Just Another Game' featuring Joe Mazzulla and his Sudoku-loving Celtics, while the Nets will undoubtedly be hoping they're not the guest stars.
